Default Online Poker or Gambling Scams

Feel free to use this thread to write about any online poker scams you might have run across so that others can avoid them. Personally, I've yet to encounter one, but I've heard many horror stories.

Most well-established and mentioned sites are very reputable. A scam wouldn't operate for long, so I suggest you stick to established online rooms.

I agree with Bengalfan's advice. So long as you stick to the reputable establishments, you can avoid scams. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

I would have to say that every site that deals with real money is somehow, somewhere running a scam out of their system. It could be as little as pennies a day that are disappearing out of your account, but they are still making thousands and more a day through those pennies. Maybe its paranoia, maybe its Murphy's Law. Either way, be careful.

Default Online Poker Room Scams

There are several reputable online poker sites that have been around for many years. That being said with the departure of some of the larger ones like Party Poker from the US market there is always room for some less than reputable poker rooms so it is recommended to use only the well know poker rooms online. We suggest that you stick to the mainstream ones like party, bodog, absolute, fulltilt, poker stars and ultimatebet.

These poker rooms have been around along time, have several thousand players logged in at any given time and have excellent financial stablility. As well these poker rooms have 3rd party review of their random shuffling just to keep them honest.

So if you are a new online poker player I can't stress enough that you stick to mainstream sites that are proven in the industry.
