Wto Rules In Favor Of Antiqua
The World Trade Organization again ruled that the United States was not in compliance by continuing to ban internet betting in the US. It states that the legislation is unfair with its targeting of offshore casinos and poker rooms.
This ruling has opened doors to possible commercial sanctions against the United States. In its 215 page ruling the 3 member WTO complaince panel sided with the tiny caribbean island of Antigua, which has argued that online gambling is a source of revenue that provides jobs and income for 100's of people living on the lsland.
The WTO ruled that while the US could continue its restrictions on internet gaming it would have to remove the exception it made in its legislation regarding remote horse betting with American operators.
